A studio, not a fund

How we actually work with domain experts: find the real problem, build the first version, and launch around production signal.

Grey Haven is a studio, not a fund.

That distinction changes the work. A fund allocates capital and waits for a company to prove itself. A studio helps create the company, the product, the technical foundation, and the first production signal.

We care about equity and ownership, but our primary contribution is building.

We start with the work

The first phase is not a pitch deck. It is a search for a narrow job where better AI can create leverage now. We interview the people close to the workflow, map the constraints, and pressure-test whether the problem is frequent, painful, specific, and valuable.

If the answer is no, we stop. If the answer is yes, we shape the first product wedge.

We build beside experts

Domain experts bring judgment, customer access, credibility, and the language of the field. Grey Haven brings product strategy, full-stack engineering, AI system design, evaluation, security, and the operating discipline required to ship.

Neither side can fake the other. The partnership works when both forms of expertise shape the product from day one.

We look for production signal

A studio model only works if we get beyond demo energy. The question is not whether a model can produce a plausible answer once. The question is whether a user can rely on the product in the flow of real work, with enough trust to come back tomorrow.

That is the signal we build toward. Once it exists, capital, hiring, distribution, and company formation become much clearer.
